    mandatory consent for school health services

    IMPORTANT! Due to a change in Florida law, your child can no longer receive routine health care services at their school clinic, including routine screenings, unless you consent in writing beforehand. If you wish for your child to receive health care services at school, please complete the HEALTH CONSENT FORM located at the front office. Services requiring consent include but are not limited to first aid, emergency care, health appraisals, nursing assessment, health counseling, referral and follow-up, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, health education, and health consultations.

    Parents, stay informed!

    The Escambia County School District arranges transportation and other services by referring to the address on file at your child's school. Please help us maintain accurate and timely service for your child, and ensure that we are able to contact you in the event of an emergency, by keeping your address and phone number current at your child's school.

    Monitor student progress by setting up a parent portal account in Focus.

    semester 2 exam information and schedule

    Our Semester 2 Exams are scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 19th.

    Thursday, May 19th will be a full day of school.

    On Friday, May 20th and Monday, May 23rd, students will dismiss at 12:10 p.m.

    On Tuesday, May 24th, students will dismiss at 1:20 p.m.

    All information pertaining to the exams and the exam bell schedule as well as dismissal times is located on our school website. 

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for students on all exam days, regardless of the dismissal time. 

    Students must complete the semester exam in order to earn credit for the course. Students who do not complete the exam will not earn a passing grade or credit, which will impact the student’s GPA.

    Teacher of the Year 2023

    Barbie Spears

    Ms. Barbie Spears, theater teacher, as well as a Booker T. Washington High School graduate, is our 2023 Teacher of the Year!

    Nominated and selected by our faculty, Ms. Spears goes above and beyond for her students and her coworkers. She is the first to offer advice, to collaborate on lessons, and to offer a helping hand in all situations. Ms. Spears makes it a priority to develop relationships with all of her students which results in a positive and productive learning environment. She is dedicated to doing everything she can to help all of her students learn, including our very first virtual theater production of Beauty and the Beast in Spring 2021. Her commitment to her students' success is evident in her love for teaching. Congratulations, Ms. Spears!

    Chromebook Information for Incoming Freshmen and New Students

    All incoming freshmen and new students will be issued a Chromebook at the start of the 2021/2022 school year.

    In order for a student to receive a Chromebook, his or her parents must complete the Chromebook Contract and view the Chromebook Contract film clip. Both items are linked below:

    Summer school dates and information

    The 2021-2022 Summer School dates set are as follows:

    Summer School Session 1

    June 6-15, 2022

    Summer School Session 2

    June 16-28, 2022

    *Summer school begins at 8:30 a.m.and ends at 3:00 p.m. each day, Monday - Thursday. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch are provided. Absences are not allowed.
