Welcome to Wildcat Country!

The Media Center at Booker T. Washington is not just a place...it's a service.

Random FAQs:

Does the Media Center sponsor any special events?

In the fall, we host a Barnes & Noble book fair in the media center conference room. We often have some kind of contest in honor of Teen Read Week in October. In the spring, we sponsor a poetry contest, and a frequent reader group with a celebratory pizza lunch. In 2006 we started a book discussion group that meets after school. Future plans include a blog, so that students can share information about good books they have read.

How can I become a library assistant?

Students who will be juniors or seniors can sign up for an elective called Guided Workplace Learning with their guidance counselor. They then meet with their Guided Workplace advisor when classes begin and choose to become either a guidance assistant, a dean's assistant, an office assistant, or a media center assistant. See Mrs. Outzen or Mrs. Woolley before you sign up so you can find out what our helpers do.
