Drama I --1 credit
This course provides in-depth experiences in the study and practice of theatre arts and literature. The course includes history and literature of theatre and fundamentals of acting and producition. Producition includes scenery construction, costuming, lighting and make-up.
Drama II--1 credit
This course provides intermediate development of theatre art skills through reading and interpretation of dramatic literature, Techniques and mechanics of acting, and stagecraft. The course focuses on interpretive analysis of production.
Drama III--1 credit
This course procides continued study of acting and production techniques through study and instruction in specific acting theories and techniques, set design, make-up, and lighting.
Drama IV--1 credit
This course provides study in various aspects of dramatic and theatrical art. The course includes costume, scenery, lighting, sound design, make-up, advanced acting techniques, and theatrical management. Students may specialize in selected areas including playwriting, directiong stage design and management, choregraphy, and acting.
Stagecraft I--1 credit
This course is an overview of technical theatre. The contest sho uld include, but not be limited to, scenergy construction, scene painting, scene d esign, costuming, lighting, and makeup. Students will be given hands-on experience in applying all of the a bove to school productions and th eir own designs. They will also be introduced to the many career opportunities found in technical theatre.
Stagecraft II --1 credit
This course further develops student abilities in the areas of scenergy and set design, sound and lighting operation, as well as scostumes, properties, and make-up. Students will again practical experiences through school productions and involvement in local Community theatre volunteer opportunities.
