Introduction to Information Technology (I.I.T.)--1 Credit

This course covers information technology career research, operating systems and software applications; electronic communications including e-mail and Internet services.

Digital Design 1--1 Credit
Prerequisite: I.I.T.
Students will develop basic entry-level skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills, digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, designs, and measurement activities; decision-making activities; and digital imaging.
Digital Design 2--1 Credit
Prerequisite: Digital Design 1.
This course continues the development of entry-level skills for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes computer skills, digital publishing concepts and operations; layout, designs, and measurement activities; decision-making activities; and digital imaging.
Digital Design 3--1 Credit
Prerequisite: Digital Design 2.
This course continues the development of industry-standard skills required for careers in the digital publishing industry. The content includes the use of a variety of software and equipment to perform digital publishing and digital imaging activities.

Web Design 1--1 Credit

Prerequisite: I.I.T.
This course provides advanced concepts for Internet, Intranet, and Web design. The content includes operating systems, basic HTML commands; navigation of the Intranet and Web; and Web page design.
Web Design 2-- 1 Credit

Prerequisite: Web Design 1.
This course provides advanced concepts for Internet, Intranet, and Web design. The content includes Internet/Intranet tools, Web site promotion, advanced HTML commands, advanced page design, and multimedia applications.
Web Design 3--1 Credit
Prerequisite: Web Design 2. This course provides advanced concepts in HTML, design, and Internet tools.

The Academy for Future Educators will allow students the opportunity to explore various careers in education through a combination of rigorous academics and work-based learning. It is through work-based learning that knowledge, skills, and techniques learned in the classroom are applied to an actual job or career, thereby integrating school and employment.

Through support from our feeder schools, the Pensacola Jr. College , professional advisors, and business partners, the Academy for Future Educators will provide a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the teaching profession while gaining insight into the career of a professional educator.

Requirements

Be currently enrolled in 8th grade.
Successfully complete all core academic courses with a C average or better.
Maintain excellent attendance.
Maintain excellent discipline.
Submit completed academy application by deadline.

Planned courses for the new E-Commerce Academy:

Introduction to Information Technology (Intro. to I.I.T.)
Prerequisite: Teacher approval is needed. This course covers information technology career research, operating systems and software applications; electronic communications including e-mail and Internet services.
Introduction to E-Commerce
Prerequisite: Intro to I.T. This course is designed to provide an introduction to Electronic-Commerce (E-Commerce). This course covers topics such as history and evolution of e-commerce; e-commerce business models; impact of e-commerce in the world economy; security and tax issues in e-commerce; and e-commerce web site design, development and maintenance.
E-Commerce Entrepreneurship
Prerequisite: Intro to E-Commerce. This course is designed to provide the tools necessary to create an e-commerce site by developing, analyzing and implementing a business plan. This course covers topics such as business plan development and implementation, human resources, marketing, Internet advertisement, financial management, pricing and selling of product or service, payment methods, mobile commerce, and customer service.
E-Commerce Systems Analysis and Design
Prerequisite: Intro to E-Commerce and E-Commerce Entrepreneurship. This course is designed to provide a systematic overview of analysis and design factors, as well as trends and issues impacting the effectiveness, efficiency and profitability of e-commerce web sites.
