9th Grade

Art 2-D and 3-D Comprehensive
This course provides students the opportunity to develop a basic understanding of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art.

10th grade

Art II (Drawing and Painting I)

Motivated students who have completed Art I may sign up for this in-depth study of design and composition as applied to painting, drawing, and printmaking. Contents include the study of major movements in art history.

Creative Photography I

This course gives students a basic understanding of black and white photography as an art form. Students will develop and print their own photographs.

Ceramics/Pottery I

This course gives students a basic understanding of pottery through pinch, coil, slab, and modeling methods.

11th grade

Creative Photography II

This is an intermediate creative photography class. Students will expand their Photo I skills by learning advanced darkroom techniques.

Ceramics/Pottery II

This course continues to develop skills in pottery with the addition of wheel throwing methods.

Art III (Drawing and Painting II)

This course further develops the students skills introduced in Art I and Art II. A portfolio of student work will be established.

12th grade

Advanced Placement Studio Art/ 2-D

This is an advanced art program which allows students to demonstrate their ability to deal with the concerns of 2-D visual arts. Each student is required to create a portfolio. College credit may be earned by outstanding student work.

Advanced Placement Studio Art/ 3-D

This is an advanced art program which allows students to demonstrate their ability to deal with the concerns of 3-D visual arts. Each student is required to create a porfolio. College credit may be earned by outstanding student work.

AP Art-Drawing Portfolio

This is an advanced art program which allows students to demonstrate their ability to deal with the concerns of perveptual and conceptual drawing skills. Each student is required to create a portfolio. College credit may be earned by outstanding student work.
