Health Occupations Students of America

2006-2007

Mission: To enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill, and leadership development of all health occupations education students, therefore, helping the students to meet the needs of the health care community.

HOSA normally meets on the first Wednesday of every month.

Health Occupations Students of America, otherwise know as HOSA, is a program that helps students learn more about the health field and to research their personal interests in the health career field. Students are taught the personal and professional qualities needed for a healthcare professional to be successful in many health care settings. A whole semester is set in the hospital to give them hands-on experience as well. Student spend time working at Sacred Heart Hospital. They get involved in the day-to-day operations. Business and interpersonal skills as taught and reinforced throughout the health science curriculum.
