SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL
           
The Florida Education Accountability Act of 1991 directs local school boards to establish an advisory council for each school in the district. The Booker T. Washington High School Advisory Council (SAC) was established for the purpose of providing a venue for interested parents, students, teachers, and community members to activityly participate in the development of education priorities, assessment of needs, and identification of resources that will enrich the education process at Booker T. Washington High School.
           
   
SAC DUTIES
    
  • The SAC assists school faculty and administrators to prepare, implement and evaluate the annual school improvement plan required by Florida law.
  • The SAC provides input into the school's annual educational plan and operating budget and approves expenditures from the Education Enhancement Trust (lottery) allocated to the school
  • The SAC assists school administrators in compliling and disseminating reports on student performance and educational programs at Washington High School.
  • The SAC performs other functions as requested by the principal and/or the School Board.
