"I'm so Glad" song lyrics
I'm so glad!
That I'm from Booker T.
I'm so glad!
That I'm from Booker T.
I'm so glad!
That I'm from Booker T.
Singing Glory Hallelujah!
I'm from Booker T.
Booker T. Washington High School's Alma Mater

Washington we love thee
Thy dear name adore
And we'll honor thee yes where ever we go
Though our years be weary, hard our way and long
To our Alma Mater we'll sing our song
Washington we love thee!

Wildcats of Distinction

The Wildcats of Distinction is an honor created to help preserve, strengthen, and add distinction to the memory of Booker T. Washington High School; to honor and perpetuate the memory of those alumni who have made outstanding contributions to society through academic or artistic achievement, athletic participation, and/or political and community service; and to recognize alumni who have demonstrated, both during high school and in succeeding years, well-defined goals and mature leadership skills that reflect favorably on BTWHS.

 A. Selection Committee:  The Selection Committee will consist of between seven (7) and eleven (11) BTWHS faculty members.

 B. Eligibility for Nomination:  A nominee must be a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.  Nominees will be considered for induction based on high school and post-high school contributions in areas such as career fields, community service, political service, athletics, and fine and performing arts.

 C. Nomination and Selection Process:

 1.      Nominations may come from any source and must be officially submitted to the committee.

 2.   Nominations must include a letter of nomination, three supporting letters from three different sources, and a biography of the candidate.

 3.   The deadline for nominations each year is January 31; the committee will meet in February to vote on the nominees.

 4.      To be recognized as a Wildcat of Distinction, the nominee must receive at least two thirds of the votes of the selection committee.

 5.   The BTWHS Selection Committee will select no more than two inductees per school year and reserves the right to reject all nominees in a given year if the       committee feels that selection criteria has not been met.

 6.   The authority to select or reject nominees rests solely with the Selection Committee.

 D. Recognition of Inductees:  Each honoree will be honored at a reception prior to the Homecoming game and will then be introduced before the start of the game, at which time a framed picture of the honoree will be unveiled before it is hung in the atrium.
