A Message From the Principal
Over the past several years, the students at Booker T. Washington High School have demonstrated impressive gains in their academic achievement and graduation rates. These improvements have a direct relationship to the efforts made by our students, staff, parents and community members.
At Washington, we have been fortunate to have a strong and active School Advisory Council (SAC) which is composed of students, teachers, staff members, parents and community members who have worked collaboratively to provide our students with the best possible learning environment that will allow our students to reach their full potentials. Our SAC is continuously striving to live up to our motto, Booker T. Washington High School, a Citadel of Learning.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us as we continue to work to make Booker T. Washington High School a school of excellence. Washington and our entire community would welcome your participation in our School Advisory Council, or in the Washington Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA). If you would like to attend our SAC or PTSA meetings, please contact our main office at 850-475-5257 for information regarding the dates and times for these meetings.
PBS and RTI
Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a new way to think about behavior. PBS is based on understanding why problem behaviors occur. PBS provides a positive and effective alternative to the traditional methods of discipline.
Response to Intervention is a model designed by Dr. Rosie Cooper-Neary to assure that all students are receiving the resources and instruction necessary to reach their full academic and social potential.
